Old Business
Lion Paul Nutter is looking to hold instruction classes in September for Lions Quest in Lima City Schools. More info when it is firmed up.
5K Freedom run ran rather smoothly. Our July 4th registration was a little lower than in previous years and the packet pickups on 2 days helped lessen the number of people on Sunday. All in all it was a good race.
Some more discussion on joining the Chamber of Commerce. We will get info as to costs and try to get someone to give us reasons why it would benefit us, then decide what we want to do.
New Business
The club will be asked if they want a picnic next month as one of our meetings. We will be getting some idea at the next meeting, July 14.
Discussed more ideas for fund raising. Lion Julie mentioned we may want to try to get some fund raiser for each quarter of the year. Sounds like a great idea.
Application for membership of Cindy Barber was approved. Motion made by Lion Paul and seconded by Lion Dr. Bob. Passed
Members are asked to seek other like minded citizens of the area to join us in helping others.
Meeting adjourned at 12:57

Memorial for Jack Blackburn. Lion Dean advised that convocation held May 27was attended by Jacks nephew who presented the check to the winning student for the Choir. Lions Dean, Carol and Larry attended.
President Dean reported that Ric Stolly should get back to him about being a vendor at the SSS, Was told they wanted $450 for a booth, buy may be less than that because no electricity, water or other utilities need to be furnished. Much discussion about where we should go with this. Will need to have the cooperation of the whole club and then some as will take quite a few cookies or brownies to just recoup the booth cost.
No Report on joining Chamber of Commerce or BBB. We will get an application and go from there.

Lima Host Lions Club of Lima, Ohio held its regular Board Meeting at Lock Sixteen on May 5, 2010. Memorial for Jack Blackburn. Lion Dean advised that convocation will be held May 27. All Lions are invited to attend. Plaque and memorial board are being finished and will be ready for club to see at meeting on the 26th. Motion made to pay $265 to Trophy center made and passed.
Lions Quest is looking to set up a training session in September. Lion Paul has talked with the Curriculum Committee and will try to get other county to schools to join in.
Letters have been sent to superintendents and will see is we can get other schools to participate.
Discussion was held on donating to a family whose child has a medical condition that requires quite expensive care. It was decided that we would make these types of cases known to the club members when we get them but the consensus was to not donate as a club for these causes in the future. Our resources are finite and it was felt they should be used for eye issues and cases that would benefit the most people. Members are encouraged to help to the extent that they can. The club would be willing to collect funds and forward the amount to requestors if the member would want us to do that. The people requesting the help would be advised that they are private donations and the Lions is the channel for the donation, not the donor.
No report on new member follow up.
President Dean will see what he can find out about bake sale at the SSS.
No Report on joining Chamber of Commerce or BBB. Discussion was held and most think it would be a good move to pursue this if not too expensive (i.e.over $200) Will try to get more info later. Other than cost, there doesn’t seem to be any disadvantages and it may be a way to get more coverage for our activities.
