August 12th Meeting
The first meeting of August started off with a fine for the King Lion for loosing his gavel. Sometimes these things have a way of walking away. Good thing the Tail Twister pocketed it, er…. found it.

No anniversaries, no runs, no hits, nor errors, but we did have a birthday. Lion Carole Swords celebrated her 29th birthday. Seems like just last year she had her 29th, too.

Lion Ron mentioned that Road Cleanup was coming up, scheduled right before the big football game.

The Ice Cream Sheet was passed around. Lion Carole is looking for volunteers to serve ice cream at Shawnee Manor from 3 to 4PM on Sundays. Please contact Lion Carole if you have a spare hour.

Blood Sugar Testing at the Andersons will take place Tuesday, September 1st from 9AM to 1PM. Contact Lion Larry if you can help out for a few hours.

Lion Barry swung into the club for the meeting to tell us all about the Golf Outing at Tamerac that will be Wednesday, September 9th. Don't forget NO MEETING AT NOON!

This will be in place of the meeting!! If you can't golf, then at least come and putt around with the gang and have dinner with us.

Lion Bill Stolly is working on getting together the membership committee for some phone calls. They will meet at Stolly Insurance on Allentown Rd and man the phone banks to call prospective members.

Lion Larry mentioned that Lions Shirts are $22.00. Be sure to see Larry if you want to order one.

We're still working on details for the Jack Blackburn Music Awards. Please contact King Lion Dean if you have suggestions about a music program honoring Lion Jack in song.

50/50 Drawing: Birthday Lion Carole won $10.

He started in 1978 with Hart Audio, selling records and turntables.
